We seek to answer many of the regular questions here. If there’s anything else you need to know or have questions about – please get in touch!

Accessibility – there are a number of steps from the parking area to the front door of the house. All bedrooms are on the first floor, up one flight of stairs. The en-suite shower in Bedroom 1 has a seat and grab rail. If you have any specific requirements, please let us know when booking. For more information please see our Access Guide.

Age limit – we are an adults-only accommodation venue, welcoming anyone aged 18 or above.

Booking & payment – payment in full is needed to secure your booking at Ivy House. You can book direct by entering your dates on the home page and pay using any payment card. You can can also pay by bank transfer – please email for details.

Breakfast – is served between 8 and 9am. Earlier breakfasts are available on request. All prices include breakfast.

Cancellations – if you cancel more than 15 days in advance of your arrival date, you can get a full refund (please note: all cancellations are subject to a £20 charge to cover card and payment fees). For cancellations 15 days or fewer before your arrival date, there is no refund. We recommend that all guests have appropriate insurance in place to cover any losses due to cancellation.

Check in – is between 4 and 7pm. Earlier or later check-in times are normally available; please ask in advance.

Check out – by 10am. Later check out times are sometimes possible (depending on subsequent bookings). You can leave your luggage at Ivy House on the day of check-out, to collect later in the day.

Cycling – Ivy House is situated on National Cycle Route 2 and is very close to National Cycle Route 3 which connect to routes across Cornwall and beyond. They also connect to the Clay Trails around St Austell, which offer some great off-road cycling opportunities. Safe and secure space is available to store your bicycles at Ivy House. We can also offer the use of bike tools, repair kit and pumps.

Dietary requirements – please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements or food allergies when making your booking. Vegetarian and Vegan options are available on the breakfast menu.

Discounts – we offer a 10% discount for stays of 4 nights or longer  – please see the Rooms & Rates pages for details. Environmental considerations – we always try to avoid the use of plastic packaging and single-use items. We recycle as much as possible of our waste. We have solar panels to provide electricity, there are LED bulbs throughout the house, and we have a smart meter to monitor energy use. Our garden provides a haven for wildlife, including a pond with frogs and newts; as well as a host of pollinating plants for bees and other insects.

Minimum stays – we have a minimum stay of 2 nights.

Opening dates – we are normally open from early March to early October. Exact opening dates are posted on the home page.

Parking – free parking is available in front of Ivy House.  We are also able to offer a charging point for guests with electric vehicles.

Pets – we are not able to accommodate pets at Ivy House.

Public transport – Ivy House is ideally located for those who are travelling using public transport. We are a very short walk away from St Austell train and bus/coach station. Please see the ‘Location & Directions’ page for more information.

Single occupancy – single guests and solo travellers are very welcome at Ivy House. We offer a generous £25 discount per room per night for single occupancy.

Taxi – the local taxi firm we recommend is C&C Taxis: 01726-63538.

TV – there is a large television in the living room, which is available for guests to use.

Vouchers – we are happy to offer vouchers to be given as gifts. Please contact us by phone or email to arrange.

Walking – Ivy House is situated a short distance inland from the South-West Coast Path and we can offer advice and suggestions about walking in the local area.

Wifi – there is free Wifi in all parts of Ivy House.
